Elijah Howe
Executive Director
Dr. Elijah Howe joined CEA as the executive director in 2022, where he works closely with the Board of Directors to oversee the organization and its success. He has worked at the intersection of philanthropy and higher education as a researcher and fundraiser, and his areas of research include faculty and student civic engagement, student philanthropy, and the history of philanthropy.
Elijah is a proud husband, father, and native Hoosier. He spends his free time with family, watching and playing sports, and reading.

Alli Engelbrecht
Campus Relations Manager
Alli Engelbrecht, M.S.Ed., has worked in the higher education field since 2008 in the areas of academic advising, student engagement, development, and marketing. She joined CEA in 2023 as the Campus Relations manager, where she works closely with partners around the state of Indiana. She is actively involved in the Evansville community and has served as a board member and volunteer for several organizations in the area.
Alli is a proud wife, mother, and Hoosier enthusiast. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, Pure Barre, playing piano, reading, and watching college basketball.

Mark Pike
Grant and Research Intern
In addition to serving as Operations Manager in the School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI, Mark Pike, M.A., is a Ph.D. student in American Studies. He is currently researching strategies to increase equitable outcomes in higher education and interrogating the role of higher education in a democratic society. In the last year, Mark was appointed to Ivy Tech’s Visionary Board for Emerging Leaders and his research has been highlighted by the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy and Student Success Summit.

Olivia Covington
Graduate Assistant
Olivia joined CEA as the Graduate Assistant in Fall 2023. She has worked in higher education fundraising as a student caller, frontline fundraiser, and stewardship coordinator. Her areas of interest are grant writing, community outreach, and social impact.
Olivia is a Richmond, Virginia native. She enjoys relaxing in nature, practicing yoga, and traveling in her free time.
