Indiana Campus Compact is honored to recognize our community partners without whom none of this work would be possible.

We recognize the incredible dedication and work that our partner institutions’ community partners put into co-educating their students, and we know that whether we talk about community service, service-learning, community-based research, or any other form of community engagement, institutions are not doing the work alone. It is only accomplished through strong reciprocal partnerships with community organizations.

Minnetrista has served as a community partner and co-educator on countless immersive learning projects involving studies as diverse as architecture, honors curriculum, software production, and English. In her nomination letter, Stacey Alexander, Project Manager for the Office of Immersive Learning, said, Minnetrista translates to a gathering place and is a catalyst for community engagement. It is a spacious forty-acre campus along the White River which is open to the public and includes the historic homes of the Ball family, beautiful gardens, a nature area, a modern museum facility, children’s play areas, and a portion of the White River Greenway. In everything they do, they hold their values central: connecting people, encouraging engagement, and improving their community. Minnetrista’s mission is to create shared experiences that connect people, leading to a better quality of life. This mission is strongly evident in their sustained, community-engaged partnership with Ball State University. The sustained collaboration between Minnetrista and Ball State provides the perfect environment for community engagement, co-education, and high impact learning experiences that allow students the opportunity to expand their education beyond the classroom.”
