Overview
Empowering youth leaders. Enriching young lives. Building brighter futures.
The Indiana Youth Corps (IYC) is a transformative summer program that places AmeriCorps members—college students—on campuses across Indiana to support youth camps that foster social connection, mentorship, and personal growth. Funded by AmeriCorps and powered by Community-Engaged Alliance (CEA), the program offers a dual benefit: expanding access to meaningful, structured summer enrichment for underserved youth while providing college students with paid service opportunities and nationally recognized leadership training.
Operating on college campuses, IYC introduces youth to higher education environments, helping them imagine future academic paths they may not have considered. The program is specifically designed to support youth well-being by replacing screen time with engaging offline activities, encouraging peer interaction, and embedding daily mentorship from trained student leaders.
In its first year, IYC will serve 26 AmeriCorps members and engage up to 750 youth, with the goal of impacting campers and community well-being at scale. IYC aims to reduce barriers to summer learning and youth development—especially in areas with limited access to enrichment programs. Participating campuses will be responsible for hosting and supervising student members during their service, while Community-Engaged Alliance (CEA) handles payroll and training.
Whether you're a college interested in enhancing summer youth programming or a student looking to lead with purpose, IYC is your opportunity to be part of something bigger.
